Reservoir Run

A run out to a few reservoirs Oxenhope way on what looked like an ideal morning but was spoiled somewhat by a strong WSW wind.
The temperature in the car on my return journey was 17 Degrees.

Leeshaw 11:00

There were Greylag Goose with young on the reservoir shore and lots in the fields with Canadas and lots of Lapwing ducking and diving. Heron, 2 Goldfinch,  Linnet, 2 Pied Wagtail, Curlew, 2 Oystercatcher, Swallow and a couple of LBBG or  a LBBG and a Common Gull - not sure.

Ponden 12:00

Windy. I didn’t stop long as it was Very quiet – 2 guys were messing about with the canoes so that might have made a difference.

Greylag with 10 Gosling, Moorhen, Swallow, Willow Warbler.

Watersheddles 12:30

With the strong wind at Leeshaw and Ponden I tried my luck further up the road and over the border.
Windier still up here! LBBG were on patrol.
Curlew, Red Grouse calling, Meadow Pipit,1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Oystercatcher.

Leeming 13:35

Leeming was less windy and at the top (south) end it was sheltered, warm and pleasant. The birdlife improved as well.

2 Redshank, Canada Goose, Great Crested Grebe, 2 Common Sandpiper, Coot, Willow Warbler, 2 Mistle Thrush, Swallow, House Martin.
