√Foreside Lane - The Quagmire - Ogden - Peat Pits - Bradshaw

12:50 - 14:00

Bright and sunny this morning - the dull stuff again this aft.

Sue dropped me at Foreside Lane Farm Shop so I could stroll back home while she made some Seville Orange Marmalade - yummy.

I went up Foreside Lane, soon took a left through a kissing gate, crossed a couple of fields (one of the fields I've named the Quagmire because it's a real bog). Arriving at a bridleway a right then a left continues the journey towards Ogden passing a ruin before emerging high up on the Back Lane bridleway.
I then had a stroll around Ogden before heading home.

Foreside Lane had c25 Fieldfare, Pheasant and Mistle Thrush.
After the quagmire a Kestrel and 3 Red Legged Partridge were seen.

13:45 Ogden Water

The car park was very busy but the water failed to come up with anything new.

c160 Small Gulls and One Large Gull...

(I shall place my neck on the guillotine and say it's a 2nd Winter Herring Gull)
...... were on the water as far as I could tell.

A few Goldcrest were seen on the way around with a Great Spotted Woodpecker calling and then seen, for the briefest of moments, at the North West end.

A second look for the Kingfisher proved successful.

Just a Great Tit and Coal Tit on the feeders.

Leaving the water via the path down to Union Lane there wer a few Goldfinch and Goldcrest in the trees behind the Res. House.

A few Long Tailed Tit were in the trees by the stream bridge and 26 Meadow pipit took to the air from the fields on Cow Hill Gate Lane.

Misty wet drizzle appeared and stopped the job here.

Earlier, 12 Red Grouse were seen, as we travelled on the Hebden Bridge to Oxenhope road.
