√Bradshaw, Holdsworth and Oats Royd

9:30 - 11:20

A short stroll around the local fields on a bright crisp sunny morning. OK in the sun but cold in the shade with a brisk northerly breeze.

9 Moorhen in the fields by the pond nr. Bradshaw Park.
A real breeding success story here.

A Kestrel seen briefly near Holdsworth and again over Oats Royd.

A Heron squawked as if flew over Oats Royd.
Fishermen about, here, tell me that a pr. Kingfisher are seen here periodically - I've only seen the one.

A few other smaller sp. but not a lot else.

Colder weather abroad, with early snow for some European ski resorts, may result in some Wildfowl this week.
A few Goosanders and a Little Grebe would be nice.

**********************************************************************

Just back from Sue's dad Ken's 97th birthday party buffet at Inge Royd, Birdcage Lane.
One of the residents is 100 and a few close to it.

We played some games:-

Play your cards right - Abigail was the card turner.

See who  can throw a 10p cardboard airplane the furthest.
definitely won, but nobody else agreed so , no .. I'm not bothered.. na,na,na,na.na.

A home made game where you lob 6 small balls into plastic cups sellotaped to a large piece of strong cardboard.

Inside the cup , the cup bottoms have the numbers from 2 to 10,  written on them in felt tip pen.

It's Abigail's job to hoik the balls out with an Ice cream scoop and tot up the score (with some help).

Lots of chocolate for winners and losers as well.

You would think that it would be mega boring but we actually had a really good time!

A bit of red vino collapaso helped as well.

Were is my Horlicks it's nearly 9PM?
