√Bradshaw Farms, Ogden, Soil Hill, Bradshaw

11:30 - 15:30

The usual walk today, through Bradshaw fields to Ned Hill Road, along Ogden Lane and around Ogden water.
A stop at the visitors centre to eat my butties.
Back over Back Lane, Coal Lane and Soil Hill to Home.

A bit of a nose-blower ,very, very cold and windy on the tops with a biting WNW cold wind.
Amazingly calm and warm at the north end of Ogden Water.

Birds:-

Becoming tough to eek a lot out of Soil Hill and Ogden this winter - no Snow Bunting although I did a good trudge.
I had a look at the big quarry pond to see if last year Oyks had made a comeback but no joy yet.

Ogden Water:

Very choppy - Usual Small Gulls and Mallards with one very large Lesser Black-backed Gull that did not stay.

I though it could just be a Great Black-backed Gull but I think I'll have to settle for LBBG, the brightness and reflections distorting the colours somewhat.
One photo does show 'pinkish' legs however - but there looks to be a contract between the wingtip and the rest of the wings.

The feeders had a few Long Tailed Tits and others.

Elsewhere:

Little Owl, 4 Mistle Thrush, Pheasants, 3 Fieldfare, 3 Stock Dove with Woodpigeons.

Soil Hill - 2 Kestrel and a Wren. A few Large Gulls overhead.

Ned Hill Track - a bonus with a pr. Stonechat seen as I was looking west , into a toupee shifter, from the track.

Also along the way 3 Roe Deer.

Looking back along the farm tracks

Lesser Black-backed Gull (or not) Pics:-

Possible Pinkish legs - maybe I'm colour blind?

Looks to have a contrast on the wings however.
But the trailing wingtips look interesting.

Interesting (or not)?

and ... somewhere along the way.
