√Bradshaw - Ogden circular

14:30 - 17:45

The usual outing this afternoon over Soil Hill through the plantation to Back Lane and around Ogden Water.
Home was via Syke Lane and the Bradshaw Farms bridleway.

I day with no wind to speak of dull and mild.

I had an enjoyable chat with Larry on Soil Hill.
All the best with the knee, Larry, you'll be dancing in no time.

Birds:-

Taylor Lane: Little Owl

Soil Hill:

8 Skylark, 4 Meadow Pipit,3 Stock Doves, 2 Pheasant, Pr. Calling Oystercatcher, Kestrel. 
A few Lapwing in the lower shay fields.
2 Moorhen on the NK pond.
A few Large Gulls over.

Coal Lane: 2 Pied Wagtail

Plantation Area:

Red Legged Partridge, very distant Fieldfare, Mistle Thrush, 4 Canada Geese flyover. A few Curlew over the moors.

Ogden Water:

14 Canada Geese, 4 Lesser Black Backed Gull, 2 Common Gull.
2 pr Goosander with one lone female bird being 'shooed' off by one of the 'paired' female birds.

Great Spotted Woodpecker calling from NW end.
c30 Goldfinch.

Syke Lane: 

From here I could see many Gulls heading towards Oxenhope (TMR) reservoir.

Bradshaw Fields:

I was pleased to get my second, very distant, Little Owl after being scared stiff by a huge horse - me ,not the Owl - I'm not good with horses.
