Bingo - Ringo!

13:15 - 16:00 (ish).

A local walk today taking in Bradshaw fields, Holdsworth area and Oats Royd, hoping for Black Redstart.

Very warm in the sun, but when the strong SE breeze came along it got quite cool.

The new? gamekeeper at Oats Royd tells me that there is no right of way running north along the track to the east of the stream. The track that turns left as I arrive at the Oats Royd stream crossing, from the good walled track down from Bradshaw.
Looks like there is a right of way on the OS but not certain?
Anyway I was a bit peeved by the conversation so I went elsewhere - and elsewhere was where I found the Ring Ouzel.
So every cloud has a dee da dee da.

Birds:-

Not much happening for most of the outing really.
Lots of calling Greenfinch and few of the regular sp, about.
Bullfinch calling and a Jay near Holdsworth.
Pr.Rooks were making more Rooks, on the way to Oats Royd.
A calling Oystercatcher and a Pr. Raven flew overhead at Oats Royd.

Bradshaw Fields had a Red Admiral butterfly (I think) and a few Meadow Pipit.
Also hereabouts was the F. Ring Ouzel - a real do and very close to houses, which was a real surprise.

Also seen during the outing Kestrel, Pr. Little Owl.

Spot the Raven

The other Rook picture has been censored!

What a Beauty

And also along the way:-

  4. Thanks Bri.
The Ring Ouzel was north West of our house , on the path that goes West, through farms, and eventually ends at Ned Hill road.
(Opposite where we saw the Parakeet)
