Northumberland Holiday - Glossy Ibis.

With some serious family commitments starting from tomorrow, and continuing through the holiday week-end, we decided to 'Sod Orft' for a few days earlier in the week.

We headed in the general direction of Alnwick, with nowhere booked.

We ended up at a farmhouse caravan site near Amble.

Amble is a real cracking place with a beautiful harbour, an ice cream parlour where they make their own ice cream, but alas there were very few shop (dear dear).

I managed to get a lifer in the shape of a Glossy Ibis and potentially a second in the shape of a Little Gull.

The Little Gull was a fleeting bird that I just took a picture of, thinking it was a Black Headed Gull.
The picture is not too great, but I am fairly sure it's a Little Gull.

Any comments would be appreciated.

The photos and a bit of a blog can be found on the pages to the right of this note.

Thanks.

John.
