Saville Park, Skircoat Green, Manor Heath and Birdcage Lane Areas

10:00 - 13:15

A long stroll around the lanes around Saville Park, interrupted with a stop for lunch at the splendid Skircoat Green café.
Nothing to bother the Calderdale Birding Grapevine with, again, today though.
The usual birds were here with Brambling being bird of the outing.
It was very dark in the tree canopies where most of the birds were seen.
The Birdcage Lane stroll was poor with very little seen in the Oaks on the 'one-way' road off Birdcage Hill top.

Birds:

C20 Redwing dropping down from the trees onto Saville Park to feed and a few other Redwing here and there.
2 Pied Wagtail.
c10 Mistle Thrush seen throughout the walk.
2 Nuthatch
A few Brambling dotted about but no large flocks - perhaps 12 seen throughout.
A scan around the allotments below Skircoat Green failed to produce much of interest.
A Greenfinch was seen from Skircoat Moor Road - Greenfinch are not easy to come by this year, so far.
And a few other sp.

Struggling to decide what sp. of Thrush this bird is.
Thought it was a F. Blackbird at the time, the light was odd.
It has a Fieldfare look about it but the belly is too dark.
I'll stick with the Blackbird.
