With the prospect of a decent bright day today I drove over and parked at Luddenden Foot for a longer than usual walk.
I walked along the railway line footpath through Mytholmroyd and on to Hebden Bridge.
The river is running very fast and this is before the forecast deluge tomorrow.
Near Hebden Railway Station I took a right, through the stone yard to the canal tow path which I followed back to Luddenden Foot.
I carried on another half a mile or so before diverting up the road to Sue's friend Helen's for a well earned rest and tea and mice pie.
I dropped a real clanger by wearing the wrong vestments today.
My warm wolly had to be locked in my pack for nearly all the outing.
By the time I got to Helen's every pour in my body was leaking.
I retraced my steps to the car and decided to go the long way home via Crag Vale so I could check out Blackstone Edge Reservoir.
Blackstone Edge reservoir was well ... black... with very dark clouds and I had a whopper of a downpour for company on my way down to Ripponden.
Home at 4 pm in the dark.
Birds:-
More of a walk than a birding outing today, but a few birds were about.
