Kessingland Nr. Lowestoft 04/09/19 - 05/09/19

A walk along a lonely deserted beach today.
Herring Gulls a plenty, a Seal and 2 possibles.

First possible was a Duck a long way out to sea, miles from anywhere.
I think it must be an Eider – possibly an eclipse Male has a resemblance to a Mallard but not miles out to sea alone!
However my Eider pictures do not match bird – any ideas?

The other bird was a Gull – again miles out to sea, alone.

I believe this Gull is a 1st year Mediterranean Gull , unless it is something even more exotic?

Lowestoft

A trip to Lowestoft today.
Not a lot about just c10 Turnstone in ones and twos.

Kessingland.

Another walk along the desolate beach here with the tide crashing in on a mild calm evening– looks ideal for Shore Lark but not much happening.
