A
drive out to Snettisham today with the tide way, way out –
it looked like the moon here today.
A
3 hour birding experience on a warm day.
Loads
of Geese, Canada, Greylag, Pink Footed and 4 Egyptian Geese also.
Shelduck,
Teat, Redshank, Little Grebe.
A
large flock of Knot nearly disappeared when they landed on the dry
mud.
Sue
was very busy chatting to a lady (non birder) while I was chatting to
her birding partner.
Sue
took a 'breath' to say “What's that large bird on the horizon?”..
- then carried on the chat.
The
bird was a Marsh Harrier
Grey
Plover in summer plumage.
Many
Little Egret.
Hunstanton
10/09/19
I
had a stroll along Hunstanton beach with the tide nearly in, at
tea-time.
Turnstone,
Ringed Plover, Knot, 3 TWITE.
A
small group of Knot were on the shore being approached by the tide.
Hoping
to get a picture of them in flight I waited for the tide to flush the
birds.
After
a long wait I realised that the birds would keep shuffling up the
beach and not flush.
I
continued my walk and on my return the Knot were still 'shuffling'
but a dog walker was approaching them.
The
birds waited until the dog was within 3 feet before they flew off and
I got my in flight picture!
Another
Skua by the looks of things as well.
A
dark angular bird with an easy flight passed quite close.
The
Gulls were 'unnerved' by it's passing, some taking to the air.
No
picture alas but 'probably' a Pomeranian Skua.
A
Tern sp. also.
???????????????
A Little Grebe although it looks LARGE
??????????????
