Titchwell Marsh RSPB 08/09/19.

A visit to Titchwell Marsh today – very busy.
We were hoping to see Purple Sandpiper (we saw one last year here) and we were lucky to see one resting out of the 'breeze' against a concrete wall on the beach.

'Usual' Waders here, but no Sandpipers for me.

Birds seen included:

Little Egret, 8 plus Spoonbill, Ringed Plover.
Ruff, Dunlin, Avocet in large numbers.
Redshank, Curlew, Oystercatcher (100's).
Purple Sandpiper, Sanderling, Teal.
Greylag Goose, c40 Pink Footed Geese, Shelduck.
Gadwall, Tufted Duck, Black Tailed Godwit.

Juv. Yellow Wagtail (?) see naff photo.

I overheard a guide explaining to 6 or so enthusiastic birders nearby, how to ID a Black Tailed Godwit- the one he had in his scope.
After the explanation the bird flew off and the guide announced that his Black Tailed Godwit was in fact a Bar Tailed because of the white markings in the wing!
He got a good natured laugh for the assembly.
I did not clock the bird so it remains unticked.

Juv Yellow Wagtail?
Any comment welcome
