I had a hot walk along the river / canal / flood basin at Hallas Bridge this afternoon.
A warm, at times very sultry, kind of walk.
Quite a bit of dog bathing in the river ( who can blame the dog on a day like today) kiboshed the job really.
Apart from a few Mallard, a Heron north of the road bridge and a Moorhen on the flood basin no other of the usual river type birds were seen.
In fact most birds came via my lug-holes rather than me bins! Disappointing.
A 2 note call that I took to be a unseen Willow Warbler was reported by Merlin app (just once) as a Common Redstart - which I ignored.
Birds:-
Heron, Moorhen. Swallow.
Male Bullfinch in great voice.
Blackcap, Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff.
Wren, Woodpigeon, Carrion Crow.
Goldfinch, Blackbird.
Mallards one with 3 ducklings.
