√Bolton Abbey

A few hours at Bolton Abbey today.
A walk from the Cavendish Pavilion upstream to cross the bridge and back down t'other side.
It was very cold early on,the bit of sunshine that did appear, was very short lived.

Birds:-

I was hoping for Tawny Owl or Brambling but did not see either and only a few Chaffinch seen.

The birds of the day were Dipper with 6 seen in all.

Others:-

Mallard, Kestrel, Robin, Blackbird, Wren, Coal - Blue & Great Tit, Long Tailed Tit, 3 Nuthatch, Flock of distant Fieldfare, 4M &7 F Goosander, Common Gull, Moorhen, 7M and 4F Mandarin Duck,Pheasant.

Great Spotted and Green Woodpecker both heard, but neither seen alas.
3 M Bullfinch.
2 Roe Deer.

We had a nice chat to 2 Baildon Birders who had just eyeballed a Kingfisher.
They were also on the look out for Brambling.
They had seen as many as we has (zero) at the time we were chatting - hope their luck improved.

A good day out.

The parking was only £4 and included a voucher for a free piece of Paradise Slice at the Strid cafe.
