To visit Edinburgh we stayed at Roslin and caught the bus into the city.
The trip takes a good while and costs £1.60 one way - you can't catch the bus unless you have the exact fare.
"We dinny take yer sassenach bus pass here laddie"
Highlight of the visit was that of a tour of the Royal Yacht
Brittania.
The self guided tour allows you access to all the decks and the engine room area.
You see the Queens quarters and the posh cabins as well as the sailors quarters.
There is even a tea room, where Sue and I splashed out on a cream tea!
Each visitor is given an electronic gizmo, like a pre-historic Mobile Phone, that gives a commentary in the language of their choice.
I choose French - just to show off.
Upon pressing the right numbers into the gizmo a commentary can be listened to.
Different numbers are displayed as you progress along the various decks and you get a really detailed description of what you are seeing and some background info to boot.
On of the best tours I have been on (and I don't like tours).
We squeezed in a short walk at Roslin.
Birds:-
Grey Wagtail, Chiffchaff - I thought this was a Spotted Flycatcher at first, Dipper.
Common Buzzard in a tree - unless someone tells me different.
