Porthmadog Short Holiday Day 3 Wednesday 16th May 2018

Portmerrion and 2nd Lifer

Overnight rain packed up and went north early morning leaving a dry cool day behind.

We enjoyed a walk from our caravan site through Porthmadog and along the railway 'Cob' track to Portmerrion.

A 'special offer' at the Castle Deudraeth restaurant, just before the Portmerrion complex entry gate, had a special lunch offer.
The price included 'free' entry to Portmerrion with the slap up lunch.
No very often we have lunch in a la-de-da castle I can tell you! Sue was well impressed.

Going along the 'Cob' railyway line I caught sight of a large distant raptor.
This proved to turn into an Osprey as it came a tad closer.
This is a Lifer for me, my second of the short holiday.
We also eyeballed it on the walk back, later on, even further away, alas.
Also here 4 Red-breasted Merganser and a Buzzard.

The walk around the grounds at Portmerrion didn't turn much up.
Jay, Shelduck & Little Egret was about it.
