Harrogate & Otley

We had a visit to make to Harrogate today. On the return journey we enjoyed a short stroll along the river Wharf at Otley.

Birds:

On the way to Harrogate Oystercatchers were in the fields, a  Kestrel and a Red Kite were seen and also a Buzzard, was on a field wall, not 10yds from the busy A658.

4 Red Kite and a calling Great Spotted Woodpecker were in the Yorkshire Show, showground area.

Otley:

c55 Curlew were seen in a boggy field on the outskirts of Otley. Among the Curlew was another bird, that I cannot ID  possibly an Oystercatcher but the picture is poor.

others:

Buzzard, 2 Red Kite, Great Spotted Woodpecker drumming.
2 pr Goosander, Dipper, Grey Wagtail, Goldcrest, Treecreeper, Skylark, Greylag Geese.

The river by the park had a large contingent of Black Headed Gulls and a very large Gull being mobbed by the other Gulls.
Going by the size of the bill really, and possibly a lighter head,I believe it is a first winter Great Black-Backed Gull.
But I could be wrong.

Great pic of a Goldcrest!
