Brighouse Canal & Brookfoor LNR area

11:15.

I spent a few hours walking along the canal and around Brookfoot LNR today.

Lots of bird songs and glimpses but it is very difficult to pick out the birds in the lush undergrowth.

Top of the pops was a Little Grebe seen on the pond by the reedbeds, from a very distant view point alas.
Also a pr Goosander with a large family or families of young.

Bird Sp.

3 Cormorant, 7 Robin, 2 Heron, Canada Geese, Chaffinch.
5 Wren, Black Headed Gull, 5 Chiffchaff.
Blue, Great and Long Tailed Tit.
Blackbird,3 Singing Blackcap, Jay.
Little Grebe, 2 Moorhen, Bullfinch.
2 Grey Wagtail, Pied Wagtail.
3 Goosander plus a Pr. with a large family.

14:10 Ringby Lane - Pule Hill

Breezy and very, very dull.

40 minutes or so walk about on my way home from Brighouse did not turn up much really.

Usual mix of Corvids.
14 Large Gulls very, very high.
A few Lesser Black-backed Gulls floating by.
A few Meadow Pipit and Skylark.
2 Linnet and 6 Swallow.
1 Swift.
