Hollingworth Lake Gulls

A grotty morning here at Bradshaw with fog and dampness.
We took Abi, Emma, Wheelchair and bike to Hollingworth Lake hoping for better weather.
Things looked grim until we left Calderdale at the White House Inn, where the sun began to shine.
It turned out to be a good day with some good sunshine and not too cold.

We enjoyed lunch at the Beach Inn - a good family pub with good grub - and Abi enjoyed riding here bike all around the lake.

Birds:-

Not a lot of time for birding, but I did sneak off while the others were on the 2p slots.

c60 Teal were by the bird hide.
A few Cormorants.
A Great Crested Grebe.
Lapwing, Moorhen, Mute Swan, Canada Geese & Mallard.

A 'multitude' of Gulls.
Possibly 320 by the bread lobbers area and looking to the far shore, more than 500 there.

90% were Black Headed Gulls with a few Lesser Black Backed and Common Gulls.

I've yet to check out all of my 200 pictures to see if there is anything 'special'.

I thought I'd got a Ring Billed Gull at one point - wishful thinking. The Iris was the wrong colour for a start!
