Another cold start to the day and I took a drive to a busy Ogden (Easter hols for some).
I had a long traipse through Ogden woods for a change.
I got a bit off piste at one point, clogging through some tufted grassy stuff, very aware of the illegal deer traps that I might come across.
A good long slog but with scant reward - nothing new there then.
Birds:-
2 Lesser Black-Backed Gull, 1 Common Gull, Moorhen, Song Thrush.
Coal Tit.
A Great Spotted Woodpecker(or 2) drumming, then calling then seen in fight was about me lot!!
Brookfoot Canal and Cromwell L.N.R. Area.
After lunch I had a drive down to Brighouse where the weather was really sunny and pleasant.
Always guaranteed a bird or three here at least.
A Grey Wagtail was by the weir behind the Avocet building.
Long Tailed Tits in good numbers.
4 Singing Blackcap were difficult to photograph.
Many singing / calling Chiffchaff.
2M 1F Goosander on the river.
Mistle Thrush, Coot, Moorhen, Heron.
A Buzzard flew over but was soon gone.
Likewise a Peregrine was briefly high overhead in the clear blue sky.
Herring Gull.
It was pleasing to see 2 very young birders , with bins and their parents at the feeding station.
There were Bullfinch everywhere more that 12 at one time!
Chaffinch, Reed Bunting and a few others.
The afternoon made amends for the poor morning.

Cropped from above.
A good do there John.
