Bradshaw to Mixenden and back

A dry bright and breezy day. Surprisingly quiet, especially at Ogden.

Nothing special to report going through Bradshaw to Soil Hill.

Soil Hill.
My solitary Skylark made an appearance gave a tweet ‘hello’ and disappeared.
A first for me on S.H.  – 20 Humanoids. They said they were Walkers but with their crinkly looks I’d have said they were Seabrook.
Ogden:
My stroll around Ogden was brightened with a chance meeting and a short natter with B.S. who was doing the rounds.
I was expecting great things today but maybe the hoards of dog walkers sent the birds packing.
Coal Tit, many a Robin, 2 Goldcrest and the usual gulls.

Mixenden:
I was a bit perplexed at Mixenden.
Not sure if the picture below is that of a Raven or a Carrion Crow.
Also on Mixenden I had a snap at a duck on the water a long way off – could not I.D. this either.
Very windy on the playing field side of the reservoir
Nothing special on the way home.

Woodpigeon, Chaffinch, 10 Goldcrest, House Sparrow.

Choppy seas at Ogden

A sign of rust - must be all the rain.

Is a crow?

The M1 of footpaths.
No swimming - red flag's out!

Who is this little fellow a long way off on Mixenden Res.

    1. Hi Brian,
Thanks for the info, the crow was a long way off but the legs and the way it walked seemed different.
      Hope all goes well .
