We managed a trip out today to Burnsall.
While travelling on the Skipton bypass a Kingfisher flew
across within 20 ft of the car. On the Grassington Road a Common Buzzard was on display.
We walked alongside the River Wharf from Burnsall to
Grassington and back. A very cold wind was blowing but at least it was dry, if
dull. There were Mallards for company all the way to Grassington. We also
spotted Wren, Robin, C60 Jackdaw, L.T. Tit, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Dipper 2, Goosander
M/F, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Starling, Oystercatcher 4, Pheasant, Mistle
Thrush, House Sparrow, Blackbird.
On return from Grassington a Starling decided to use
my coat as a toilet! My mum used to say this was a sign of good luck.I am not so sure.
Wharf flowing at full tilt.
Starling making a get away.
Farmers cryptic clue for stent?
A good day out in a lovely area. Good to get Oyks.
ReplyDeleteI reckon we could be getting Oystercatcher reports in our area in another two weeks.
ReplyDeleteWhat the chances of Soil HilI having some Oystercatchers to visit?
