Brighouse – Cromwell Bottom / Canal.

Leaving a very foggy Bradshaw I had a run down to Brighouse where the weather was dull and cold but no fog.

13:15.
On the river Calder path a glimpse of blue out of the corner of my eye led me to find a Kingfisher well camouflaged on the far bank of the river.

The whole place was alive with singing Wren and Chiffchaff. I counted 7 different Chiffchaff locations. It seemed impossible to get a picture of one though.

Also on the river M. Goosander and a Dipper below the bridge near the feeding area.

The feeding area held the usual crew M&F Bullfinch being the pick of the crop.
I met a guy called Nigel - a member of the Cromwell Bottom Wildlife Group – who said Siskin had been feeding there earlier.

On the anglers lake a pr. Great Crested Grebe were feeding also present a Coot and a Jay.

Nesting Coot

Loads of Chiffchaff but not easy to snap.
