Managed a quick trip to Ogden & SH today.
Where is spring? Cold North Easterly – Breezy on
SH top.
Ogden
11:00.
Pied Wagtail: Goldfinch: Woodpigeon 3: Coal Tit.
Nuthatch on feeders and calling from trees.
Green Woodpecker still calling from woods at north
end of Res.
A few Chiffchaff and Willow Warbler singing on
the circuit. Also plenty of noisy Wren.
Treecreeper: Usual Blackbird and Robin population.
Ogden Water very quiet.
Soil
Hill 12:35.
A quick visit to SH on the way home from Ogden.
First Soil Hill Swallow keeping very low over the
top of the meadow.
Many a Skylark singing & Meadow Pipit in abundance.
A solitary Wheatear and Linnet on the wall of the
Bridleway from Perseverance to the old Pottery. Most prob. a good few Linnet up there but I
cannot id Linnet in flight (yet).
Lapwing in flight and 2 Woodpigeon in the Mast
Field.
Homeward bound a wren
and a large gull > North
towards the Raggalds see pic (LBBG?)

Another LBB John, you do well with Nuthatch, it always avoids me.
