Skipton Woods Walk – Cold dull day.

Escaping for an hour or so from Father-in-Law the shops and Bradshaw wind.

Usual woodland birds:-

Goldfinch 2: Song Thrush 3: Chiffchaff 4: Wren 2: Dipper 2: Grey Heron: Pr. Grey Wagtail

Chaffinch 7: Robin 4: LTT 4: Coal tit 2: Dunnock: Nuthatch: Curlew: Woodpigeon 4: Blackbirds Galore

BHG 10 – passing overhead in ones and twos all afternoon: F. Pheasant.

Herons are nesting in the woods.


An unid. Raptor very agile flying very fast above the trees after a woodpigeon and ‘banking’ very quickly with a wide tail when turning. Quite dark - pigeon sized.
