Moelfre.
A few days off by the sea. Not as many sp. of sea birds
this time of year with Herring Gull being the most prevalent.
Molfere is a small quiet picturesque village with
a good pub and a Post Office a nice café and a lots of quiet. The coastal
footpath goes through the village.
Only a few Curlew, Oystercatcher and redshank spotted
but there were plenty of Tern diving for food.(Not sure which sp. of tern
though).Whitethroat in abundance.
We walked the coastal path to Red Wharf Bay on a
lovely sunny hot day. The hightlight of the walk was when Sue spotted a black
and white sea bird a sp. that we had not seen before. It was a long way from the
shore and a frantic chase began to get a decent snap. We needn’t have worried
though. After loosing sight of it ,because of the bushes guarding the
footpath, we caught up with again nearer to the shore and it had joined 6 of it's mates
for a spot of sunbathing!
The bird is a Black Guillemot (unless I’m
mistaken).
A few pics.
