I drove up to Fly
Flats for a nosy about today but my timing, weather wise, was off target. Light
drizzle for starters, heavy rain for main course but quite a nice summer
pudding for dessert.
A Wheatear and a possible Stonechat greeted me immediately
through the gate – happen as well because the water was deserted – more dead
than the Dodo.
A good wet prance around the Res. (or most of it)
and back produced that well known stately home Buggar Hall. A walk across the moor following the drainage ditch
produced a bit more rain and the same amount of wildlife.
Then the sun came out and with it 4 Meadow Pipit.
A second visit to the water produced 3 BHG and 2
Duck, that I could not ID most prob. the Eclipse Mallard that fooled me last time,on a mud bank .
Leaving in lovely sunshine the Wheatear and now 2
Stonechat ( Juv. Wheatear - cheers Bri.) waved me ta-ta.
Still it’s nice up ‘ere in it?

I did look at your leading blog photo about 30 mins ago and realised my mistake.
