Oats Royd Plot Night

Sunny but cold later in the day.

I had a bit of taxi driving to do today, so just time to pop up to Soil Hill to put some birdseed down and home again this morning.
A nice surprise to bump into 2 Queensbury lads on their way up to soil Hill, David W. and young Mr. Miller – nice having a chat and a laugh.
Hope you had a good day’s birding.

Oats Royd.

I managed an hour down at Oats Royd later this aft.

Birds:-

6 BHG, c12 Rook feeding in the fields, many a Magpie.
Pheasant, Wren, 2 Moorhen, 3 Musketeers, Chaffinch, Goldfinch,  Greenfinch, Blue Tit, Pied Wagtail, 4 Woodpigeon, 3 M Bullfinch.

A change of weather in the offing from tomorrow afternoon so maybe something interesting will drop in.

Guy and Katherine Wheel are coming to a Roman Candle lit dinner tonight. No doubt she’ll be wearing a sparkler. It was going to make a big dent in my Sky Rocket before I opted for Bangers & Mash with Rocket Salad and either Cherry Bomb or Cheese and Chinese Crackers for afters.
Drinks are Pop and Fizz and I’ll play  “Jumping Jack Flash” by the stones – to get rid of them.

Very Very Elusive Moorhen.

Fairly sure this is a Greenfinch.
