Reservoirs running on empty.

Sunny with a cold SE breeze – soon be gloves time.

It seemed like a nice day for a trip out to Oxenhope and district to have a look at the reservoirs.

I don’t think I’ve ever had such a quiet day as this. But it beats doing the ironing (like I'm doing next).

Leeshaw.

Red Grouse calling from the moors, BHG, Pheasant, Robin, Wren.
Possibly 4 Teal a long way off in the far corner of the Res?

Lower Laithe.

A quick look from the road revealed a few Mallard and BHG.

Ponden.

2 BHG joined eventually by a few more!
Moorhen.
A few Canada Geese in the fields with a Greylag by the looks of it.

On the way to Watersheddles.

14 Geese feeding nr. the Pine Shop. Greylag not sure about the others.

Watersheddles.

The bit of water that remains was bereft of any bird life.

Leeming.

Pied Wagtail, Mallard, c30 BHG, 3 Common Gull, Wren, Robin, 2 Blue Tit, 2 Pheasant, 8 Blackbird, Dunnock.

Leeshaw:

Possible Teal? on far bank

Birds overhead - Mallard I think

On the way to Watersheddles:

Leeming:

A leprechaun disguised as a tree.

  1. Always good to check the reservoirs John even though today you were unlucky.
Need to get some cold weather in to waken up the wildfowl.
The Teal were on Leeshaw yesterday but well in the distance.
You,re overhead birds are, first 3, Mallard, second pic, Woodpigeons.
Hope Sue gets sorted so she can chase you around again.

I'm taking Sue to Roundhay, Leeds tomorrow for her stitches out.
Then I'll be taxi man for the next 4 weeks.
