Sue’s
foot was given a clean bill of heath at Leeds hospital yesterday. She needs to build
up the strength in it for another 2/3 months then we should be able to do some
long hikes again.

I
had a trip around Ogden, and back via Ingham Lane in a strong Westerly - gale
force at times. I had only the odd wintry shower to contend with.
The
Xmas tree gang were dressing Ogden Water in Christmas Trees.
I had a look for the elusive Kingfisher but found
only 2 Woodpigeon feeding in the area beyond the Promenade.
Just Great Tit & Coal Tit feeding on the path
under the beech trees.
Just ONE
Robin seen today.
A very skittish Drake Goldeneye was on the water,
being plagued by 5 or 6 small gulls. At one point, I though there may have been
2 Goldeneye, but I think it was the same one, very mobile, moving from one side
of the res. to the other.
It’s nice to get one here again – hope it stays a
while.
I thought I’d take a look at the intake stream for Dipper
and about 200 yds from the bridge (further up than usual) I was rewarded with a
far off view of one for a short time.
The usual Mallard & small gulls were on the
water ,as far as I could tell.
The feeders were deserted - doing a Bob Dylan - blowing
in the wind.
On
Ingham Lane, I dropped a ski glove (I’d just paid £3.99 for them this morning at
Home Bargains – I know how to splash out) and I returned to look for it, with
success. But I realised how strong the wind was now that I was walking into it.
Near Ingham Lane Top a largish flock Starling &
Fieldfare ,c80 birds with perhaps 10 Fieldfare – hard to tell, they were
constantly on the move.
Back
home its trying to snow off and on but so far nothing to write home about.
Small Tit flock feeding area.
Hunter Hill from Ingham Lane Top
Nice Goldeneye and Dipper
ReplyDeleteThanks for this script, this is a lifesaver for me! I have a huge backup file with a lot of errors when I try to restore them. I’m now able to restore my backup table by table.
