Oxenhope Reservoir Run – After the Lord Mayors Show….

A morning out, and a very cold windy morning with intermittent showers at that.

Leeshaw 10:30.

Cormorant, Kestrel, Pheasant, Mallard.
Usual gull sp., c30 Meadow Pipit flitting about could not decide where to land.
3 Woodpigeon.

Lower Laithe.

Quiet.
Usual small gulls as far as I could make out.
Pheasant, Mallard.

Ponden.

Heron, Robin, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Goldfinch.
Great Spotted Woodpecker  (my first this year).
Mallard and a few small gull sp. on the water.

Leeming.

The weather decided to chuck it down as I arrived at Leeming, so I just went as far as the top of the tarmac road, had a gander over the wall at the water and returned to car pretty sharpish like!
Just small gull sp. seen with a few Mallard.

Raggalds Flood.

I had a stop at the RF for a free blow dry (as if I've have any hair worth drying!)
C70 Lapwing stood quietly in the strong breeze.

I must get the old walking boots on more often.

I seemed to be stuck in a bit of a rut.

  1. Oxenhope reservoirs just are,nt producing the goods this year but good effort for trying.
Strange act of silhouetting on a gull, the mystery bird.
