A bitterly cold morning with snow in the weather
forecast.
A visit by
Sue to see her Dad at Ing Royd, allowed me to have a very quick gander around
the Birdcage Lane area.
A Nuthatch was on the feeders in a garden and a few
Great Tits were knocking about. The wind here was very strong, to say it’s a
lot lower than Bradshaw, keeping the bird life at bay.
I looked and listened out for LSW (given that they
have been heard drumming at Coach Road earlier this week) but failed to hear or see anything
resembling a Woodpecker.
2 Redwing were in the oak trees near Scar Bottom
Road - a nice surprise.
The rain began at 11:00 and by the time we got back
to Bradshaw it was mostly the white stuff.
A thoroughly miserable afternoon but at least the
snow turned to rain later.
At least I finished the crossword – better luck
tomorrow.
