Sowerby Bridge

Family commitments for the last couple of days have kept my local walks and birding at bay.

Some pics from an hours walk in the vicinity of St. Peter’s church earlier today.

I was very fortunate, and well chuffed, to spot a Brambling high up in the trees on St. Peter’s avenue (about ¼ mile below St. Peter’s church).

  1. Great stuff John, you did well to spot that, which is St Peters Church, I was in Strawberry Ridge this afternoon.

  2. From SB town centre: cross river bridge then turn Right to pass Tesco’s on your right.
Next left (pass Royal Oak pub I think). Road bends sharp right, climb hill to pass White Windows care home (on right). Next left St.Peter’s Avenue – church at top about ½ mile. (Brambling in trees about ¼ mile up St. Peter’s Ave.)
    Cheers

  4. Lots of tall trees for 300? yds there. Not too up on trees so didn't notice beech particularly, but there was a single Redwing , Starlings, Goldfinch and Chaffs all feeding etc. Looking at the photos I've probably got 2 Brambling. The second one I'd decided was a Chaff through the bins.
