A hectic day today with visits to Skircoat, Soyland, Pudsey and Huddersfield
for one reason or another so not much time for birding.
Birdcage Lane 10:20
A scout around the oak trees in the vain
hope of LSW proved uneventful.
Birds:
A Great Tit nest site, Coal Tit, Wren,
Robin, GSW calling, Jay,LTT.
Ogden 18:50
A late visit to Ogden with a walk up to
Giant's Tooth and on to the moor beyond before following a steam down to the
water.(no sign of Crossbill).
This trip was also uneventful with the
water having a couple of Canada Goose, Tufted Duck and Mallard.
Nearer the Tooth Curlew, Lapwing, Red
Grouse, Willow Warbler.
On the return via Ogden Water I spotted a
Heron skulking in the undergrowth next to the water's edge and a Skylark and
Meadow Pipit were on Perseverance Road on the slog home.
Ah well there's always tomorrow.
Spot the Heron
The chaffinch shot is a beauty John, not been out for a few days mate what with work, family things and the bloody wind but missing not getting out there.
ReplyDeleteCheers Dave,
ReplyDeleteI've been going through a bird drought of late!
Not a lot to shout about and the wind never stops blowing.
Another week and I'll be moaning about the heat.
Hope to see you about.
