Round and about Bradshaw

10:30 – 14:45

I had a good scout around but, after yesterdays Merlin, scant reward today.
I enjoyed a good hike through Bradshaw to Holdsworth, down to Oats Royd and up to Roper Lane then up Moor Close Lane past the cricket ground and down Old Guy Road. A quick nosey down Pit Lane before heading off to Raggalds Desert then up Perseverance Road and a very quick look from the contour path at Soil Hill before going home via Taylor Lane.

Birds:-

Nothing out of the ordinary.

Oats Royd

Kestrel, 2 Swallow, Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler, 3 Moorhen one with at least 2 chicks, Heron (keeping an eye on the chicks!) , Song Thrush, Pheasant.

Queensbury area

Meadow Pipit, Skylark, 2 Swallow, Willow Warbler, Greenfinch, Goldfinch.

Raggalds

2 Pied Wagtail and a Rabbit!

Soil Hill


Skylark, Meadow Pipit, Curlew calling from Ogden, 2 Unid on NK pond – Mallard most prob, 2 Cock Pheasant, Lapwing, 3 Oystercatcher overhead.


Look out there is a Heron about
