After a frustrating morning fighting with
a Phillips MP3 player and deciding it needs sending back to be repaired, I
headed off to Soil Hill.
The weather was dark and gloomy with a
threat of rain but I was very fortunate and kept mostly dry!
Bradshaw
Leaving Bradshaw a Mistle Thrush was
outside the house. On the bridleway, there was c10 Linnet ,which is a good
count for me! Also on the way up Goldfinch, Greenfinch, Pheasant, Robin, Wren
& Dunnock
Soil Hill 13:50
Swallow, 3 Skylark, 5 Meadow Pipit, Swift,
Curlew.
Looking back up to Soil Hill from behind Pottery Cottage 2 Lapwing were getting some real grief from Corvids, (Hope B.S.
little Lapwing bundle is ok!)
Leaving via the west path a Whitethroat
was singing from a tree on the hillside and 4 Canada Goose was in the fields.
A Willow Warbler and 4 Linnet at the south
end of Ned Hill Track.
Coal Lane had 2 Swallow and a Kestrel.
Plantation Area 14:30
2 Swift, Curlew calling, Swallow,
Pheasant.
Ogden Area 14:45
2 Swift, 2 Meadow Pipit, Chiffchaff, M.
Blackcap, Tufted Duck, 8 Canada Goose came into land on the water.
A bird asleep in the middle of the water
that I thought was Great Crested Grebe and it was kind enough to wake up
raise it's head and let me get a pic.
It had gone out of sight later.
Willow Warbler, 3 Greylag Goose.
A Wren with some nest material nearly as
big as itself.
The Mistle Thrush was on next doors' house roof
when I got back home.

Mixenden Reservoir in the distance - Rain on the way but it missed me!

Nice Wren shot. A bit drafty up on the hill.
