I had a nosey around Ogden woodland and a quick tour
of the water before granddaughter duties today.
It was a dull cloudy day with a stiff NW breeze
blowing across the golf course.
Where
is summer?
On
and around the water.
1 LBBG, 1 BHG, 12 Canada Goose.
A young Mallard family being eyeballed by a Heron.
2 Willow Warbler, 4 Chiffchaff, Elusive Blackcap, 4
Goldfinch.
Around
the woodland
It was disappointingly quiet in the wood with very
little birdsong.
I took the bridle path towards Withens, and after a good nosey for Tree Pipit - not sure if I got any though, however there were plenty of Pipits collecting food. I left the path at the second stile on the right, and did a
loop of the woods before returning back to the water.
A few lively Chaffinch were in the trees near the
bridleway. They were catching flies from the lower tree branches by the looks
of it. I thought for a moment I’d got Pied Flycatcher but soon came back to
earth.
A good few Wren were about and a Curlew was calling from
the moors and that was all folks.
Kirkby
Lonsdale.
We had a day out earlier in the week at Kirkby Lonsdale
on a very wet day.
See if you can tell which pics are Ogden and which are K.L.
Today's Post
Some good pics there John. Good to talk to you this morning.
ReplyDeleteLongest day on Sunday but on the bright side , the birds will be moving, we,ll soon be watching for the last Swift. I love cheering people up.
Cheers Bri.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the chat - its nice to have someone different to moan to.
My weather prediction - from 3rd July a massive heatwave with temperatures approaching 19 degrees c!
(That's ruined the summer).
