Sue had a couple of errands to run late morning, so
she kindly dropped me at Ogden and picked me up later.
With this lousy weather I was hoping something might
have dropped in and it had – rain big style.
The input stream was flowing well with brown stuff aplenty.
The heavy rain made glasses, bins and camera
difficult to keep dry so the camera spent most of the outing in the sack.
There was, however, some movement of gulls coming
and going.
The shoreline held c30 small gulls with a few dotted
around on the water.
8 LBBG inc 4 juv. were on the water with a pr. of
Great Crested Grebe.
Half way around the circuit I noticed at least 4
Common Gulls, on the shoreline ,in a group of small gulls. I decided to take a
pic. when I got closer, they however decided to pack up and leave as I was
behind the bushes.
Pity that - there
may have been something special there.
At least I managed to get a pic. of one of them.
Also about 2 Canada Goose and the usual Mallard population.
It was nice to see the Mallards out on the water,
fending for themselves, with the lack of bread lobbers.
A couple of Willow Warbler calls from the bushes and
a group of Long Tailed Tit moving about completed a wet outing.
During a particular heavy downpour I passed a lady
with her daughter and a dog.
“Where is everyone? I quite like the rain” she
announced.
Although remaining reticent her daughter looked to
have a very different opinion on the issue!
A damp do
