Soil Hill 10:00 - 12:00.
A hot sticky walk up and around Soil Hill
this morning - not expecting much in the heat and not seeing much!
I dropped some Nyger Seed (you never know)
and had a walk around the footpath.
A Juv. Woodpigeon was “lazing on a sunny
afternoon” (well morning actually), looking tres chic, sitting on a fence post in
the sun.
A Moorhen was far off on the lower pond.
A single Meadow Pipit and a family of Red
Legged Partridge (I believe) left the hillside, in a hurry, as I walked the
West contour path.
I hope the disturbance does not affect the RLPs adversely.
I took a random photo and actually captured one of them!!
1 Swift >S and a juv. Pheasant was near the main track below
the "soil heaps".
5 Linnet flew past and, as I strolled
about on Ned Hill Track there were at least 2 Whitethroat, very mobile. They
remained stubbornly hidden in the lower branches of the small bushes there.
Also here 2 other birds, again very mobile
and secretive, possibly Blackcap, but not easy to ID.
Coming down Taylor Lane 2 Swift floating
about, c12 Swallow, a Kestrel, a few Goldfinches, a LBBG and a juv. Linnet on the
telephone line??
Stunning RLP! shot
Even more stunning cropped!!
I take it the LRP shots were meant as RLP
