Bolton Abbey

It was another depressingly foul morning in Bradshaw with fog and drizzle.

There was however a promise of better weather, for late morning, from Paultheweatherman on Look North last night, so we headed off to Bolton Abbey.

The rain did ease somewhat but the poor weather persisted for most of the walk.
The river Wharf was in full flow and the only birds seen on it were Mallard.
We did a circular walk from the Strid car park to Bardon Bridge and down the river side path to the Pavilion and back.

There was plenty of drizzle for bins, glasses and camera to contend with today.

Birds:-

2 Cormorant, Treecreeper, 3 Nuthatch, 8 Coal Tit, 2 Great  Spotted Woodpecker, Wren, Dipper heard passing by, but not seen, 12 Chaffinch, Blue & Great Tit, 20+ Blackbird, Dunnock.

On the way home a large contingent of gulls were in the fields near Many Wells Brow, Denholme.

A check on the Raggalds Flood came up with a blank.

However, a large flock of gulls were in the fields preceding the flood field.

I'm beginning to hear the call of Soil Hill - can't put it off much longer.
