Skipton Castle Woods and bargains galore

We had a day out at Skipton today. Sue managed to grab a real bargain bagging an outdoor walking coat, for £16 instead of £80 ,at Mountain Warehouse.
I too did ok getting my little sis a coat for £14 instead of £65!

Previous to the shopping bonanza we enjoyed an hour’s circular walk along the canal and through Skipton Castle Woods.

We also found a bargain lunch spot at the Holy Trinity Church café where buns and toasted teacake were the order of the day.

The bird life was kind to us as well today.

Soil Hill.

Following a tip off from New Scotland Yard, arriving on my telling bone while I was at Skipton, regarding my recently errant glove - (Queensbury MOT centre really) we called at a very, very damp and misty Soil Hill on our return from Skipton to search for the offending item.
With precise instructions on my mobile I had good hunt around but I could not find the B. thing.
This search felt a bit like the Ring Ouzel search in spring (where I did actually find the Ringo)
I have attached a grid map of Soil Hill and I could do with anybody with further information to let me have the Soil Hill map co-ordinates –
muchos grachies as we say in Bradshaw.

Skipton Birds:

Treecreeper, 3 Nuthatch, 2 Dipper, Kingfisher, c12 Goldfinch, Mistle, 4 Mute Swan, Mistle Thrush, House Sparrow, 3 Chaffinch, 2 Redwing (I believe), GSW calling (not seen), Grey Wagtail – oh and a Robin or 3.

Can't really have too many Kingfisher Photos can you?

The KF was very obliging, having just swallowed the tiddler shown in the first pic, it must have been digesting itslunch.
