The Bonnet, Soil Hill & Ogden

13:15 – 16:00

I had the usual circular walk today.
It was very cold but pleasant in the sunshine.

I enjoyed a chat with Muxy who I bumped into on Soil Hill, he was hoping for Snow Bunt but it wasn't to be. It's always nice to put a face to a name that I see on the blogs.

The Bonnet fields held 38 Lapwing, 3 Fieldfare, 7 common Gull and some Starlings.

I dropped some birdseed on the Soil Hill track before having a disappointing saunter around.

There were 2 Skylark singing, 1 Fieldfare, 3 ‘feral’ type pigeon and 3 Woodpigeon seen up here today.

A single Cock Pheasant was seen on the way over to a heaving  Ogden .
I forgot about the school holidays, didn’t I!

There was just the usual Gulls and Mallard on the water being amply fed by the hordes of bread lobbers.

5 Robin, 1 Goldcrest, 1 Coal Tit, Great & Blue Tit, Blackbirds and 5 Goldfinch were all that I saw on the circuit.

The walk home was mostly bereft of birds.

A pretty dull do!!

Excellent Goldcrest Shot
