Bingley and Bradshaw

It was a quiet day for me today, finishing off a quiet birding week-end, with a couple of short strolls.

One stroll along the canal at Bingley 5 rise locks, in glorious sunshine, and a second circular stroll through Bradshaw, Ingham Lane, Syke Lane and Perseverance Road.

The mist was starting to form, later in the afternoon, so I guess some fog will be the order of the day tomorrow.

I think I must have ‘done my back in’ picking Abigail up yesterday, because my old bones were suffering big style today!

I'm ok walking, but after sitting down, trying to get up - well it's is watching an 90 year old.

Plenty of folk about on the canal at Bingley with nothing, bird wise, out of the ordinary, seen.

C10 Greenfinch were seen near Bradshaw School on Ingham Lane.

The last remains of the snow were still apparent at junction of Ned Hill and the ‘Bradshaw Farms’ bridleway.

On Perseverance Road we came upon with the sad sight of a recently deceased Wren, on the road, at the bottom of Soil Hill track, probably hit by a car.
There are too few birds up here at the best of times, so it seemed exceptionally cruel, for one of them to meet its maker in a car accident.

Just the usual stuff about today with singing Skylark heard as we passed the bottom of Soil Hill track.

It was pleasing to see the return of Pied Wagtails to the fields near the Raggalds Pub.
Looking down from the top of Perseverance Road, The Raggalds flood looked bereft of birds.
