This week-end we were kept occupied with Emma and
Abigail with visits to Sowerby Bridge and Shibden Park.
Shibden Park held the usual birds but no gulls – I guess
the gulls will be away for a while.
A cheeky , nervous Heron was trying to pinch some duck
bread during a relatively quiet spell. It soon vamoosed with a big floppy wing display
when people showed up though.
A half hour spent in the gardens of White Windows
late afternoon was rewarded with a drumming Great Spotted Woodpecker.
There are some interesting “Woodpecker holes” in the
gardens here.
Also in the gardens were a Long Tailed Tit and 2 others birds that I thought were Song
Thrush, but, after lightening the photos I think they are Redwing.
They did not hang about, just allowing 2 Photos.
Also here were a few Blackbirds, Blue Tits and Robins.
Just as we were leaving a Sparrowhawk soared high to
the South West.

Singing Willow Warblers next. Hope you bag a Swallow this week.
