Oats Royd

14:30 – 16:00

I had a short stroll around Oats Royd this aft.

Just the usual stuff around but it was nice to see 3 Moorhen with 2 younger Moorhen dashing about.

A pr. Canada Geese had 5 Goslings in tow at Bradshaw Park.

A Swallow passed high overhead as I reached home.

A bit of a boring old day today I’m afraid, but you need a few of these to appreciate it when the Mega comes along – tomorrow??

Birds:-

Mistle Thrush, Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff, Heron, Mallard, Wren, Robin, Blackbird, Blue Tit.

Plenty of Midges about

  1. That shrub at the top looks like Berberis darwinii - a very good shrub with lots of flowers and later dark blue berries which Blackbirds love ! Looks like the insects love it too.

  2. To late for Waxwing this year - but is there any chance the shrub could attract Waxwing Dave,or do the berries appear too late in the year?

The berries have been on this shrub a good few weeks now.
    Thanks for the comment.
