There was not much time for birding today – nearest I
came to it was taking my camera and bins on a walk down to the Junction Pub for
a late afternoon meal – very nice meal it was too.
A Heron flew over as I left the house.
2 Lapwing were in the Lowe Lane fields with a few
Starling.
Also seen on the walk were 3 Swallow, Song Thrush
and a Goldfinch or three.
2 large Gulls flew overhead as we descended Lowe
Lane – but I could not tell what sp. they were. (Nothing new there then!).
Probably LBBG but the head looks a bit Herring Gull
like.
A
big win for me on the Thunderball yesterday (well it would be if I had a Tardis
and could travel back to 1700 when my £3.00 win could be worth £1,604.37 –
marvellous thing this inter-web gizmo).
I’ve been wondering all day what to spend it
on – maybe a magic mirror.
Talking
of Magic Mirrors a joke:
A lady goes to Halifax Borough
Market and buys a magic mirror.
She fastens the mirror to the back
of the bathroom door.
She then stands in front of the
mirror and chants:-
“Mirror, Mirror on the door , make
my boobs 44!”
Ka-Zam –
Ka-Boom out pops her boobs.
Her husband comes home from work as
sees the ‘new’wife.
WOW
– what’s going
on here? he splutters.
The lady explains the workings of
the magic mirror.
The man runs upstairs, into the
bathroom, and stands in front of the
Mirror chanting:-
“Mirror, Mirror on the door make my
‘old man” touch the floor.
Ka-Zam
– Ka-Boom
– his legs dropped off.
When you’ve stopped laughing, in 10
mins or so, it may be advisable
to take a paracetamol to ease the sides, that
you have laughed so,so sore.
The photo above was lightened slightly using Picasa.
The photos below are cropped but not changed in any way.
They were taken on Bradshaw Lane below the Bonnet.
I though the white in the wing was odd but it's most probably an effect of the poor light?
