√Bradshaw and Soil Hill

11:15  - 12:50

The usual short outing this Saturday.
It was very mild with just a 20min. interlude when some very wet drizzly stuff arrived from Ogden.

A Mistle Thrush was in the tree outside home and a second was on Taylor Lane.

4 Ducks flew overhead with a quick wing beat, Mallard I think.
They were soon just 4 dots in the sky.
I did get a photo but it "ain't the dogs" by a long chalk.

The Little Owl was on Taylor Lane and a Dunnock was by the Midden.

Soil Hill was damp but clear when I arrived, soon to be enveloped in low cloud.

The highlight of the outing was a large flock of Pink Footed Geese, first heard calling from Well Heads then seen as they flew West over Oxenhope reservoir.

I reckon there are 208 birds ,looking at the photos.
They were a long way off so the photos are poor.

Also on the hill was a solitary Skylark, a real surprise to me and the bird as I flushed it from the east side.
No pics alas, as it was gone in a flash and not relocated.

An enjoyable outing , beating, watching The Jungle Book DVD,  with the three ladies at home.

Mallards most probably

Plenty of Pink Footed Geese pics but the birds were miles away!!
