√Brighouse

We had a walk on the "not too" wild side this aft.
Leaving a nasty gale behind we had a stroll along the canal at Brighouse with a short detour around Brookfoot nature reserve.

It was windy here with sunny spells an just a light shower.

Birds:

The nature reserve feeders were busy with the usual suspects.

Long Tailed Tit, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Coal Tit, Nuthatch, Bullfinch, Chaffinch and a big fat squirrel.

Elsewhere birds were difficult to come by, the strong wind having some influence.

Near the feeding area a Male Goosander was on the river by the bridge.
A F. Goosander was further along by the fast flowing weir area.
A couple of Cormorant flew over during the walk and a Wagtail that called a few times with just "one note".

The usual small gulls were on the lake (as far as I could make out - difficult to see the birds through the trees and fencing) and 2 Mute Swan.

3 Moorhen were also hereabouts  and that was about it.

On the way home c40 Lapwing were ,one field up from the " trailer" field, as we approached the Queensbury boundary.

A very large flock iof Starling were seen briefly as we passed the football field opposite the Raggalds.

Not a bad outing considering the weather.

I thought about trying for B.S's, Soil Hill, Snow Bunting, when we got home, but I couldn't drum up enough enthusiasm to go out again - and there is always the toupee to consider.

Maybe I'll try for it tomorrow, if the forecast snow allows.
