√Saltaire

A glorious sunny morning saw us drive to Saltaire for a walk through Hurst Wood and along the river and canal before a snack in the park cafe.

After a look around the impressively expensive mill shops we called at Sir Titus Salt's church cafe for a bun.

The rowers were out in force along the River Aire keeping their section water clear of birds.

Hurst Wood had lots of dog walkers and many Jays.
The water treatment beds were difficult to see, through the many bushes and wire mesh fencing.
Especially with my bonce being nearer the deck than some other people that I could mention!

It was quite cold and dark on some bits of the canal when the sun went in.

A really enjoyable outing, but ....who's nicked all the Woodpeckers?

Birds:

Bullfinch (calling), 5 Jay, 2 Nuthatch, 2 Cormorant.
4 Wren, Dipper, Kingfisher, 2 Heron.

6 or so Pied Wagtail in the filter beds.

2 Meadow Pipit on a house roof.

Sparrowhawk, high, being mobbed by a Crow - seen from the park cafe window,as I waited for me scran.

Raggalds flood had a good number of Lapwing and a few Gulls.
The water level was pleasingly higher than I'd expected.
