A cold bright day with a biting wind on the tops - maybe because I had my ears lowered this morning at the Queensbury Barbers.
The snow covered frozen fields, as expected, did not reveal much.
A walk around Ogden Water had the usual small Gulls (c10 Common and c30 Black Headed) and Mallards.
Very quiet around the circuit and bitterly cold on the NW & NE sides where the water in partially frozen.
Just Robins, Blackbirds and Dunnock about.
A walk over Back Lane and through Another World adventure centre, had lots of deep snow and a Kestrel.
Coal Lane, Ned Hill Track and Percy Road were quiet with just Wrens, Magpies, Dunnocks and Crows for company.
I failed to locate any Little Owls at their usual locations today.
An invigorating walk, especially uphill in the snow, on a very pleasant day.
I think I'm going to have to look lower down, maybe "costa del Brighouse", to see owt during this cold spell.
